Through the ages, death has
moved from being religion-based to science and logic-based. People still have the questions about death that existed in the
middle Ages. The difference is that know people seem much less occupied with the meaning of life and life after death than
we used to be. Life has gone from living for the afterlife, now people live for the day and put very little thought into life
after death. The evolution of death’s influence in society has moved away from religion and more towards the individual.
People now think what they want about death and living their lives. Religion, though still prominent in society, used to determine
what to think about life and death. What an individual believes in can no longer be as strongly influenced by the church.
Death is no longer as religiously influenced as it once was. Beliefs about death are now being influenced more and more about
science.
